JULY OUTING ~ ROSS RIVER, BELOW APLIN’S WEIR ~ SUNDAY 23rd JULY.
The outing will be on this coming Sunday, 23rd July, and will be a circuit around the section of Ross River from Aplin’s Weir to the Bowen Road bridge. This stretch of the river is tidally influenced and has some estuarine species as well as open forest wildlife and plants. The walk can be as long as people want it to be – Aplin’s Weir to Bowen Rd (northern bank) about 2.5km and the full circuit via Annandale is around 5.6km.
Meeting time and place: At 9:00 am, at the Rotary Park at the end of O’Reilly St, Mundingburra.
Transport: People will provide their own transport to the meeting place, but please email us if you need a lift.
What to bring: Good shoes for walking on a bike path and grassy surrounds, morning tea, *WATER*, gear for birdwatching and photography, HAT, sunscreen, insect repellent and whatever else you think appropriate. There’s a public toilet at Rotary Park and also at Sherriff Park en route.
