MARCH OUTING ~ ROWES BAY WETLANDS BOARDWALK ~ SUNDAY 22nd MARCH.
Our outing for this coming Sunday, 22nd MARCH, will be a walk along the boardwalk and other tracks bordering the Rowes Bay wetlands. The tracks start close to the large wind turbine on the Pallarenda Road, adjacent to the Landcare Bush Garden Nursery and the TCC depot.
The Wanderstories webpage has an interesting 2020 post about this area and Creek to Coral has good historical and other information about this portion of the Townsville Town Common.
Meeting time and place: At 9:00 am, at the 20-bay roadside parking area closest to the wind turbine.
Transport: People will provide their own transport, but please email us if you need a lift.
What to bring: Good shoes for walking on sandy tracks as well as the boardwalk, any snacks required, *WATER*, gear for birdwatching and photography, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent. Given the recent weather, a raincoat and/or umbrella could also be useful!
