Zoom meeting: Flying Foxes – Environmental Issues in Nth Qld.

An upcoming Zoom meeting, organised by the Royal Geographical Society of Queensland, will focus on the environmental issues arising from populations of flying foxes; their ecology, migration patterns, roosting behaviour and how humans can live with them.

Dominique Thiriet, a passionate flying fox rescuer, carer and advocate in North Queensland will give a presentation on the flying foxes in the Townsville, Ingham, Charters Towers diamond. Dominique will then be joined in discussion with Tyron de Kauwe, the Natural Areas Conservation Officer with the Sunshine Coast Council. Tyron works primarily on flying-fox conflict management along with kangaroo conservation, defensive birds and other urban wildlife education and research projects.
