NOVEMBER OUTING ~ ROLLINGSTONE CREEK ~ SUNDAY 24th NOVEMBER.
Our final outing for 2024 will be on this coming Sunday, 24th November, when we will explore a section of Rollingstone Creek that’s not far downstream from the old bridge across the creek. Please email us if you are intending to come – it will help if we know who to wait for before we set off on a walk.
Meeting time: At 9:00 am – allow 30-35 min for the drive from the northern outskirts of Townsville..
Meeting place: At the middle shelter shed in the park/camp ground on the northern bank of the creek. Just south of Rollingstone Creek, turn right off the Bruce Hwy into the road to Balgal, but DON’T take the next right turn, which crosses the railway line. Instead, keep travelling north and cross Rollingstone Ck on the narrow bridge that used to be the Bruce Hwy. Turn right off Rollingstone St, onto the gravel road between the creek and the park – see map below for more details..
Transport: People will provide their own transport, but please email us if you can offer someone else a lift, or need a lift yourself.
What to bring: Morning tea/lunch, *WATER*, birdwatching and walking gear (track may be rough underfoot), hat, insect repellent, and whatever else you might need. We anticipate returning soon after lunch.
