FEBRUARY OUTING ~ TEGOORA ROCK ~ SUNDAY 26th FEBRUARY.
Our first outing for 2023 will be on next Sunday, 26th FEBRUARY, and will be a walk along the track to Tegoora Rock at the eastern end of Many Peaks Range, Pallarenda.
We will walk in the afternoon, hoping to catch the onshore breeze that usually springs up later in the day. The walk involves a fairly gentle climb up to a look-out area with great views out to the hills around Townsville. The track is narrow (single file) and mostly easy, but it’s rocky and rough underfoot in places.
Meeting time and place: At 2:00 pm, at the playground area in Walter Nisbet Park just outside the entrance gate to the old Quarantine Station.
Transport: People will provide their own transport, but please email us if you need a lift.
What to bring: Good shoes for walking on a rough track (walking poles could be useful for some of us), afternoon tea, *WATER*, gear for birdwatching and photography, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent. Given the time of the year, a raincoat could also be handy!
